Maglite Mini
All the mag lites share solid aluminum construction and rubber o-ring seals.
What sets the mini mag off from the other mag lites is its size (easy to hold with teeth while working under car, sink, etc) and one little known feature - "candle" mode. You adjust the beam focus by rotating the mini mag's head, but if you continue turning the head pops off; you are left with the handle and the exposed bulb, which is now throwing light in all directions - it is a "candle". Flip the head over, place it on the ground/table - it is now a "candle holder". Stick the candle into the candle holder. Instant candle for camping. (These directions are actually on the mini mag's packaging, but it wasn't until I had bought my third mini mag (one for car, kitchen, daypack) that I noticed. This is actually a great trick to show other mini mag owners... they also threw their packaging away without looking it)
Two mini mags in the candle mode do a good job on a picnic table at night... so get two of them... they're cheap.

MagLite D Cell LED Upgrade
TerraLUX® announced today a 600 Lumen LED light bulb upgrade which replaces the standard incandescent bulb in Maglite® D cell flashlights.
The TLE-300 upgrade fits into and converts a Maglite® flashlight with 4, 5 or 6 D cell batteries into the brightest LED flashlight available, setting a new performance milestone in flashlight brightness. TerraLUX uses three of the latest Luxeon® K2 “flip chip” high powered super bright LEDs to make this performance possible. The light output of the TLE-300 is greater than a conventional 50 Watt MR-16 halogen light bulb. The product will be available to upgrade other flashlight manufacturer’s products in the near future. Maglite Torches
Maglite torches are picked by many security and police personnel as their torch of choice. Maglites are designed, patented and produced in the US, although some products contain components that are imported. The features of Maglites include but are not limited to, high strength, machined alloy aluminium shell, an anodised inside and out, which considerably improves corrosion resistance and durability, water and shock resistance, a high intensity beam, an adjustable spot to flood beam which can be adjusted from the base, quality rubber seals and balanced power and optics for better performance. A spare bulb can be stored in the tail cap, with the exception of the Mini Maglites. The Mini Maglite can easily be changed into a freestanding candle type light.
